Maintenance

The Intelligence Fundamentals Professional Certification (IFPC) credential is conferred for a three (3) year period; certificants will receive an email notice three (3) months prior to the expiration date of their certification reminding them that recertification is soon required.  The certificant can renew their IFPC credential using one of the following options:

  1. IFPC certificants may choose to re-take the IFPC exam.  Those who re-take the IFPC exam and pass, will automatically extended their credential for another three (3) years.
  2. IFPC certificants may choose to obtain USD(I&S)-conferred or -recognized intelligence tradecraft certification.  IFPC certificants who receive a USD(I&S)-conferred or -recognized intelligence tradecraft certification will have their IFPC credential renewed on the same date the secondary certification is conferred.

In order to re-certify by obtaining another USD(I&S)-recognized intelligence tradecraft certification, IFPC certificants are responsible for updating and maintaining their candidate profile in the candidate management system, Learning Builder.  To do so, please follow the steps outlined below.

  1. Log into your account: http://IFPC-GSX.LEARNINGBUILDER.COM
  2. Once you access your account, click on the "My Cycle" tab located in the upper left corner of the screen.
  3. Click the orange, "Begin/Continue" button for the "IFPC Renewal" learning plan.
  4. You now have the ability to upload your latest certification documentation to have your IFPC certification renewed.

A list of USD(I&S)-conferred and -recognized certifications is presented below.  This list is not definitive and is subject to change.

Reinstatement of Expired Credentials

Individuals who fail to meet the certification maintenance requirements every three (3) years will receive a notice from the IFPC PMO that the credential has expired.  Individuals who allow their IFPC credential to expire must apply as new candidates and meet all of the requirements in place at the time of application, including taking the exam.
